Background

The Company was founded in 2007. Existing skills brought into the company were from the Industrial electrical, public lighting as well as MV Electrical & Underground Fiber Optics industries. In 2009 through a share buy-out, skills in civil infrastructure, building and Horizontal Directional Drilling were added to the growing list of in-house competencies, increasing both capacity and service delivery to our clients.

By 2014 SP Excel has developed into a strong player in Civil reticulation and maintenance, Telecom infrastructure and trenchless installations and corrosion protection with a strong focus on specialized machinery. SP Excel strives to deliver multi-disciplined solutions of excellence with a culture of continuous improvement in all levels of the organization.

Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment

SP Excel is a proudly Black owned company with 51.25% Black ownership and 30% Black woman ownership. Besides ownership our broad based initiatives have sown financial resources into surrounding townships in the form of donations to NGOs like We Care, Unity in Africa and Shine foundation. Our Enterprise development initiatives have invested wealth in and assisted beneficiaries in the granting of interest free loans.

SHEQ and Employee Wellness

SP Excel is very proud of our Zero tolerance adoption of the country’s health, safety and environmental legislation. With three permanently appointed safety officers, of which one is SACPCMP registered, we are pro-active and diligent custodians of the health and wellbeing of our labourers, staff and sub-contractors alike. The development of wellness programs and staff career development programs are close to the heart of what SP Excel subscribes to as a company.

CIDB registrations and affiliations

SP Excel is registered with Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) as a 7CE and 7GB which enables the company to be awarded projects up to R40 Million in value.
